You're right Qu Don. Koreans still don't like us.
« on: December 03, 2017, 08:42:15 AM »
My sister and her husband just came home from their honeymoon in Korea, Japan and Australia. Of all the countries, she hated Korea the most.

My sister is very westernized and tall(1.72) But even as she do look modern, they treated her, her husband and the couple they travelled with like thrash. She said restaurants and groceries staff where rude and impolite. The girls there were stuck up and people were constantly in a bad mood.

She enjoyed Japan more, because of their overpoliteness and good service. Even though she didn't know if they liked her or not, they treated her with the utter most respect and they even smiled. The koreans never smiled she said. She was a huge KPOP fans, but after the experience in Seoul, she hates the genre.

I personally think the exchange between govt officicals and business people are improving between the two countries. People to people are a mixed bag still.

When 7 out of 10 places provided bad service, it does give us a clue how they treat foreigners, especially SEA. However, my sister said street food vendors behaved better.

Yes it could be, but I think having a SEA apperance will have a more negative impact than being caucasian or lighter skin.

Well, now they know.  Traveling is a great form of education because it makes you more informed about the world.  I have lived with Koreans my whole life and I have never been into this KPOP stuff.

It hasn't got anything to do with your sister being Vietnamese.

Koreans are impatient and blunt, as are Hong Kong people. It's socially more "aggressive" than Japan. It's just how the society is.

Atreygutten,

How old are you? Are you from a poor place? You're making yourself look low.

For thousands of years, We generally never cared about Korea... It's mostly China.

Why don't you stick to the subject than attacking me with personal insults? I think it is you who are low here. If you don't have anything to contribute to this thread with facts, I suggest you shut your mouth or go to sleep.

I guess you're probably right. I'm going over there next year, so I'll see how things really are in Korea.

This is Vietrealm... You have been bringing Korea here for a long time.

You've been making yourself look low, not me. Why do you care what they think? Do you want to be accepted by them?

Something you can do instead is study hard, make yourself a billionaire... You will be confident.

I believe many early Asian influences in Vietnam after 1975 were deliberated by the government.  The first wave of cultural influence came from Japan (due to political fallout with mainland China after the border clash), followed by Hong Kong and Taiwan, and finally from Korea to the present day.  We are now entering the Thailand phase with Vietnamese people starting to watch Thai dramas and consuming Thai food products.  The dominant Asian influence in the country is still that of South Korea.

With rising internet access in the country, young Vietnamese people will be exposed to other cultures outside of Asia.  American influence is only now starting to gain traction in Vietnam due to all the Viet Kieu coming back.  Things will continue to change as this KPOP mania in Vietnam with the stupid dyed hair is going to pass and get followed by the stupid American thug life music and fashions from Inglewood to East Harlem.  The problem with poor countries is that their youths often copy what is readily available and popular.  Some young kid in Hai Phong of the year 2020 has a much higher chance of banging his head to the beats to Eminem´s The Real Slim Shady than Eagles´ Hotel California.

I think all of the artists in VN left after 1975,  so Vn does not have much direction on it's own entertainment industry.  They have to copy from whatever media entertainment from anywhere they could get their hands on.  I think first it was Russia, Hong Kong, Taiwan then Korea.

I remember seeing some early music videos in VN where they try to copy ballet moves into the communist stately music with ballet dance moves but the dancer had her foot curled up instead of pointy.  It just shows that they don't know what they are doing.

I think every Vietnamese should listen to Bolero instead.  Because the victim mentality just leaves you look like a crying little girl.

Koreans are truly Aryans of Asia and God´s Israelites.  Every ethnic group has huge inferiority complexes when they see those Korean faces for the first time.  On the internet, lots of dark skinned flat nose Southeast Asian trolls pretend to be Korean to troll other Southeast Asians.  No wonder in America Koreans have their own churches since to them God is Korean.
