do you have any trustworthy neighbors, preferable with other friendly pets and pay them to cat-sit her for a week. If they're already taking care of other pets not that much more work.

otherwise, you may just have to bite the bullets and put her in a kennel.

too bad she's not outdoors cat. My friend has a cat that also goes outdoors. When he's not home the cat can survive outside OK. He has his next door neighbor come over to feed it daily and kinda keep an eye on it. The thing is the cat doesn't wander. Just stays in the backyard which is quite comfortable. he even has a stray cat friend that also gets fed so the stray cat stays around and they keep each other company.

I love animals but for the simple reason I can't be there to care for them makes it hard, esp if they're babies.

Relatives watched ours.  -shrug

My relatives have dogs and birds so they don't mix well.  My sister has an African grey parrot who likes to tease cats by meowing.  One day the cat's going to get the better of him.  My other relatives have dogs who kill for a living.

I think some cats have problems with certain diseases if you let it outside.  They have different vaccinations types depending on how you plan on raising your cat, if you let it outside, interaction with other cats and animals, eating wild things, etc...  I keep my cat in the house so that it won't catch fleas. (Does anyone know if fleas get in your hair they become lice?)

I like cats.  They are usually reserved to themselves and don't give the golly.  Just like a person, I like to let them develop their own character.

This cat don't give the sheet.

If your cat isn't allowed outside don't lock it in a room with food it will die.  From experience.  It was very sad the vets diagnosed neurological disorder.  It just stopped and its bodily functions were all shutting down and I gave the order to put it to sleep.  From then on I still have a fondness of cats but I found them to be disgusting in some way.  Too human, finnicky, and requiring too much.  It scares me.  Cats are more social animals than dogs and they will shut down if they don't hear from you for a week.

Where do you keep your pets when you go on a vacation?

I'm about to go on a lengthy vacation, 1-2 weeks, and I don't know where to keep my cat.  Pet sitting services are sure to cost a lot so I'm thinking of other plans.  Maybe lock her up into a room and let her rummage through 40lb bag of food.

"Hey brother OJ, you promise you'd take me to @SailorNeptune to visit Rambo if I stop chewing on your toes?"

"Hey look OJ.  I'm super dog.  I can flyyyyyyy!!!"

I am in love.  She is  simply adorable.  She must be attached to you.  Rambo is still a handful.  He have eaten a few q-tips, and have tried to eat push pin, a penny, gloves, napkins, socks, plastic, and my phone.

@Sang17  definitely get a dog.  I feel they make your life sweeter.

Omg!!!!!!!!!! She is soooo cute!  It looks like she has blush on her cheeks.  Awwwwwww, I am in love with her already.  She can definitely be my daughter in law lol.  I plan to save u for a house.  Haha, living here that will take forever....

When she was younger she has much more brown on her.  I'm sure the brown came from being mixed with shih tzu, because malteses were bred to be all white from what I understand.  When I'm home I'll post more pics for ya.

With your salary it shouldn't take you long to save up at least for the down payment.  But you're right, house prices in SJ are getting higher and higher.

@Sang17 you definitely should get a dog after starting a family.  It will bring the family together in so many good ways.

Your guys dogs are so adorable.

I'm thinking about getting a pug or shih Tzu, probably get both lol.
But I'm not ready yet.
Dogs require a lot of attention, especially when they're like babies.

When I'm more settled down and home bound, I'm getting one for sure.
