Is this a sign of aging?

I have serius XM and always pick up new songs I like. Lately I have been finding less and less that I like. This rap thing, I do like some but not a staple in my collection. Same with hip hop. It’s just so overexposed. Alternative which has always been my favorite has become more and more sedated. I dunno, is it a sign of the new generation?

At a wedding before COVID, I was at a wedding and the parents of the bride were trying to be cool by dancing to every rap tune there was. Try too hard, I’d say.

Sounds kind of depressing.  More depressing than old time bolero.  It's a different kind of depression though.

No, you are just at the stage in your life where you feel jaded.  It could be self-actualized sophistication or mild case of depression. You need a rental companion.
