im going to get an instantpot. Get the delux version and you can make vnmese yogurt too.

Being a busy person, these items are a good imvestment.

Also an air frier looks good too.

Yes get an air fryer.  You can make your own fried chicken without having to deep fry which is wasteful and dangerous with lots of movement in the kitchen.

The instant pot is just a high pressure cooker with different controls for different dishes.  I'm not sure why people thinks it's revolutionary technology.

I would recommend getting a Keurig.  It's convenient and fast making just a cup of coffee.

the SIL made vnmese yogurt and it was superb. Considering you pay $1.25 for each cup and you have to go to a vnmese shop which is not always convenient, I'd go for it.

Also when I look up yogurt all the recipes call for instant pot so I wouldn't know how to make it with a regular pressure cooker. the convenience is not having to look up things.

If you already have a pressure cooker, then don't need instant pot but since I don't have one, might as well buy it.

ok, here's why you "need" the pressure cooker to make yogurt. The yogurt culture work best at 110 F. A regular pressure cooker does not allow you to set the specific temperature I don't think, it only has low, med, high.

you can also make yogurt in the oven i supposed, sit them in a water bath and turn the oven to 110 F. And you need to cover the jars with warm cloth. Also with the oven, you have to turn it off. the pressure cooker turns it self off auto. Also if you re lazy, don't have to get a bunch of towels to wrap the container.

anyway, if you get your first pressure cooker then get one with yogurt setting, otherwise no sweat.

I got a knock off instant pot. it's called mega chef. It has yogurt setting and I made my first batch. Incubated for 12 hours and came out too sweet. I had to throw it away. Many recipes call for boiling the milk and let it cool to 110 then add the culture but some don't. Since I didn't have a thermometer, maybe my milk was too warm and i killed those poor bacteria. The yogurt was too sweet and didn't have much yogurt flavor.

I got one of these air fryer that's pretty good.  You can fry without any grease and it does seem to taste better than deep frying.  I made some french fries and it was pretty good without  any oil.

I don’t use microwave. I heat on stovetop or in the oven.

I bought a meat slicer bc I had the fantasy of making bo nhung dam or vnmese grilled pork but never got around to it.

I got a meat grinder and got good use out of it since I don’t trust ground pork in the Asian markets.

I’d like to get a tabletop grill so I can make bo nuong Vy.

I don’t eat lots of fried food so don’t see a need for air fryer right now.

So I cooked 1/2 chicken frozen in my pressure cooker. Came out nice and moist. Yahoo!

Turned out the rubber ring from the pressure cooker absorb flavor of the food and very hard to get out so,I will need to buy another ring for sweet dishes like yogurt or cake.

Busy professionals Should really invest in a pressure cooker. A great time saver and good eating.

Pressure,is sealed tight to trap pressure and steam inside so it cooks faster. An ordinary rice cooker is not sealed tight.

I cooked my frozen chicken in 15 minutes. The meat was done and moist.

I had left ove rice in freezer so I put it and frozen chicken in the pot with chicken broth.  Put it on porridge setting. That cooks for 15 minutes. Chicken was done but the porridge was not as mushy as I liked so I cooked the rice for another minutes.

I have a "made in japan" rice cooker with numerous functions and one of them is complete seal without letting out the steam while cooking.  My mom gave it to me so I am sure they sell rice cookers with these features.

OK, not familiar to  mx functions rice cookers fr japan. I stop buying these electronic cooking gadgets in the Asian stores b/c they  are so  abundant everywhere now and much  cheaper

for example, I bought one of  those  expensive  electric hot water cookers that you can  dispense hot water at all times for $79. Well  even  if I used filtered water it clogged after a few years.

now  you can get a pot that cooks water in a couple of minutes for tea, cost $20, $15 if you  get it on sale.

I picked up a small  rice cooker  in homegoods for $14.

pressure cooker at  walmart  megachef also  has yogurt  function   cost $90 and I get $35  credit for getting their credit card.
