Vietnam´s reselling subpar Chinese products caught!
« on: January 10, 2018, 07:38:22 AM »
https://www.reuters.com/article/us-usa-china-aluminum/u-s-producers-seek-to-block-chinese-aluminum-shipped-via-vietnam-idUSKBN1EZ01E

this happens from everything from food products to consumer goods.  The US and EU caught inferior Chinese products and placed a ban on them.  The Chinese then ship these banned products to Vietnam for repackaging to resell internationally.  This time Vietnam gets caught and products from Vietnam get banned.  Reputation is so important in business and these dumb azz Viet commies jump on the same sinking ship with the Chinese.  It seems like all the smart people have left Vietnam.

Vietnam has a long way to go if they want to join the rank of Singapore, korea if they continue this culture of low expectations.

they should be smart enough to see the ban on china is an opportunity to fill in with superior vnmese products. that's how korea, jp get ahead by providing quality even when it's something common like electronics.

that's why poor countries continue to be poor. Not a lack of talents but a lack of using talents.

If anything it shows how desperate the Chinese are.  Instead of investing their time building a better product, they spend this energy trying to circumvent international regulations for their dangerous products.  I mean if your business revolves around making shitty products that nobody wants how hard is it to retool and make something more relevant.

you can compete by massive production of cheap goods or reasonable amount of quality goods.

china is profitable b/c it is quick to copycat other products. For example, somebody spent lots of time inventing and patening the selfie stick. The Chinese quickly copied it and was able to make it for 1/5 the price. They are quite good at having ready factories that can crank out goods on a dime.

does VN have that capacity? If it does then it can fill the cheap knock offs niche that is no longer that cheap to produce in china. Or it can go the route of more advanced strategies of making the best electronic things like Samsung or Toyota, etc...

factories take time to build and same with focusing on quality. VN has not capitalized on this type of preparation to spring into action when the opportunities present themselves. Hopefully in another 10 years?

Sinosphere culture does not encourage independent thinking.  This is why Japan managed to make products smaller and better without much revolutionary innovations.  When they needed to invent something new, they either could not or did not dare to and totally lost out when phones became mini computers.  Except for Sony, how many Japanese companies are still relevant today when so many dominated consumer technology products of the 1990s? The Koreans will come to a point and stop too.  This is why I support Garden´s nephew studying music; he´s doing something he loves and unconventional.  We really do not need any more Asian doctors and healthcare people.  If I invent a way to stop people from getting sick, all the Asians in America will be broke as fuk.
