I predict a two-party system in the coming years
« on: January 14, 2018, 08:05:29 AM »
The purge of the elite that holds much power will sooner or later face resistance. As much as I hate CSVN, I don't want Vietnam to slide into a civil war. Breaking up the party into two parties would be in my mind a step forward in the short term.
I think there are a growing resentment against the faction in the party that are basically China's puppets.

America is a two party system
So you're saying Vietnam will be politically like America

In terms of human rights and freedom of speech like America, I think not. But some improvements from today's system will surely come. In my opinion, the country will evolve more socially and economically with a two-party system. I do wished for a multi-party system in the long run, but it's wise to begin small first.

Nope, as long as the Communist Party rules Vietnam, the country will always be a one party state.  There will be factions within the party but they pretty much all want absolute power and the best manifestation of that is to not have rivals in other parties sharing power to begin with.  As the military and police force are organized under party control, civil war due to factional fighting is highly unlikely.  Temporal stability is the same trade off you get in dynastic rule of the old days too.  If there was a good king, sure things go very fast and the people live happily.  If there was a corrupt king, things go back to the stone age just as fast.  China´s shadow banking system is going wreck China in a few years.  Just wait and see.  I celebrated New Year 2018 with very good champagne because I know things in Asia will change for the better come 2019.  Free Vietnam!!!!

The pro China conservative faction in Vietnam is winning but they know going this route ensures their survival for only a few years.  Siding with America actually ensures their survival longer but they took the risks anyways.  In their calculation, China is the devil they knew while America is too unstable to rely on.  I guess America´s scraping the TTP was their best argument to kick out the progressives and turned the tide against Nguyen Tan Dung.  These pro China idiots do not see long term and they will pay the price for it when the people rise up and eat them alive.
