The first few lines or whenever the girl sings sounded kind of old Chinese songs.

Maybe like this song but with a different beat.

Ok it didn’t sound Chinese to me
I heard: Num nge soi voi dung na sa

If she sang like: Yangli shuo aiqing ku sha
Then yes I would thing it sounded Chinese

But I think I know what you mean. The singing style has that Chinese effect with the mini yodels.

I don’t know what language this is, but the words they sang sounded a bit closer to that Vietnamese example than Standard Chinese

I thought it was in Mandarin because it didn't sound Cantonese.  Maybe Hakka?

Okay here’s a tip for you
Mandarin does not have the word “eh” or “em”
Like the start of the word “egg” in English. Standard Chinese doesn’t have a word that starts with that. Also Standard Chinese doesn’t have any word that starts with “ng”.

The dialect that I can think of that has words starting with “ng” is Cantonese. Like their word for “I”.

Also the vowel sound “oi” doesn’t exist in Standard Chinese but it exists in Vietnamese Thai Cantonese I think

Ai exists so does ou i u ü a o/uo and ei (as in mei which means beautiful).

Ü like yü (fish) or nü (girl)
U like mu (wood)
O/uo like wo or shuo
Ou like dou or kou
A like ya or na

If you see an e it’s just a schwa
Like 日本 or “riben” rhymes with a fictional name “Murson"
Unless it's er you just go R

What about 鹅?

I would consider that a variation of a schwa
