Gee I was dead wrong. I said 90% of vnmese own car. Way off, real figure is 20 per 1000. So it’s only 2% own car.

According to Lee Thai thu they

I think Vietnam is at the tipping point for car consumption,” said Vinfast’s Thuy Le. “Car ownership is very low in Vietnam, about 20 cars for every 1,000 people. The number in Thailand is ten times that. It is just a matter of time before the take-off comes in Vietnam.”

I once made pho in 4 hours trying to rush it but the broth tastes kind of bland like water.  All of the ingredients from the bone marrow hadn't leached out into the broth yet.

I cook it in the regular pot for 2-3 hours then add lots of good fish sauce. Quality fish sauce can cure a lot of problems, like MSG.

Chicken pho takes 2 hours but beef pho takes 6-8 hours if you cook the normal way.

It takes one and a half hour to cook beef pho in an instant pot.

6-8 hours? Wow, I’ve been cooling pho all wrong.

How long do you cook it for? With regular pot, takes two hours.

You just make the broth the same normal way.  The cooking time is much quicker and the broth is much cleaner and clearer.

Even two dumb white girls can make it.

I bought a giant 8 quart Instant pot to make pho broth.  It can make 10 bowls of pho.  It makes the broth in one hour and doesn't leave any scums.  It makes a lot of fat oil though.

Frugality is virtue, but you're just cheap and poor. How can you compare yourself? Cụ Hồ can live in Villa or big mansion, wear any fancy clothing, drink fine cognac, or eat anything from the deep forest if Tay Nguyen or East Sea because he has bo doi whose will do anything for him. He chosed to wear the same suit over and over, eat simple, live simple, in a stilt house because in his own mind he must be frugal so his people won't suffer further. He was virtuous. OTH, you're just poor and cheap.  :))

We bought the rolls, I believe 2 rolls of 20 ft for $20.  So it comes up to about 50c a bag.

We by a bunch of family pack steaks and chicken and brisket and seal them.  It stays fresh in the refrigerator for months.

I have food saver. Their bags work out to be 10 cents if you make 7” bag. If you make 14” bags for a large family then it costs 20 cents per bag. The machine cost me 70$ but they have a cheaper one at Walmart for $50. I think it’s very reasonable. I got these 2 11 foot rolls for 33.50. Target isn’t the cheapest, it was just convenient.
