I made crabs and shrimps pan fried with shrimp paste.
Yumm, that looks so good Linh!
-
It was good :) It was my last normal dinner before I go back to my diet :(
-
That has got to be the most appetizing homemade crab I've ever seen.
I ate leftover fried pork fat again.

It's gio heo.
gaden...do you not care about atherosclerosis? :)
My blood pressure and cholesterol level is normal. It seems like eating raw fat doesn't affect me. I think it just doesn't digest and goes out the other end.
-
I just had giant killer snails yesterday.
It's kind of rubbery but I just kept on eating them. I had maybe 20 of them.
-
I ate pasta, pesto and scampi, damn I feel sick, I think it was to much mo :(
-
wow Gaden those snails look so good. I had those and they are huge! I like the smaller sea snails in coconut lemongrass juice.
Yeah that's one of my free for all seafood grab all dinner at a buffet. I had crab with tamarind sauce, chickentail shrimp, clams, mussels, shushi, crawfish, fried shrimp, steamed fish, salmon, and a bunch of other things.
crawfish
(http://i1146.photobucket.com/albums/o528/chubbygardenboy/public02172012/crawfish_zps75c48da7.jpg)
Last but not least Rambutan. I had to fight an old lady for the last one. She looked king of disappointed that I got the last one.

^ Wow! It always amazes me how you always have so much fine delicious looking food, going out or at home. Sometimes all I have to eat is mì goí and some stuff from my yard.
Crawfish is the new trend. Need to get with it. Some people can eat 10lb of crawfish at a time. Can you imagine any food that you can eat 10lbs worth?

Lol, stuff from your yard is organic and healthy. I can eat 10 pounds of durian. -dribble
When I first ate crawfish, I just ate the whole thing with the shells and all. It was too much work to bite off the head and get the little bit of meat. =))

Yeah, the organic stuff in my yard is pretty health, especially the worms. Somethime I bite into something that tastes bitter and I dare not spit it out to take a look at it. I just swallow it whole because I heard insects are very nutritious.
Once you get the hang of opening the crawfish it's quite addictive. Over here, you're considered a savage if you don't know how to eat crawfish like a savage.
-
Eww. I guess if you don't see it, it can't disgust you. Vietnamese people in the north eat that silk worm called nhong.
My mom made it before but I was too scared to eat it.
-
I ate that silkworm larva before, a long time ago when my grandma made it. I was too little to know what it is, so I just eat it. If I can remember right, it's tastes reaaly disgusting with the guts and bladder popping out in your mouth, then the juices would squirt out of your mouth.
I think it's kind of like this.

Looks so dry. Was it good?
-
It's kind of dry because they baked the bread. But there is butter under there and the meat is juicy. Maybe it looks dry because of the vegetables on top.
Tasted OK, not good than normal. It was at this place.

That's the mean lady who teased me when I left $700 on the counter and walked out. I called back and she wanted a 10% cut for the return. I said there's only $1 in there so she gets 10c.

I like the chewy but not raw version of the fried pork fat. The braised version would probably be like jello slithering through your teeth, so I'm not too fond of that. But, I would eat most anything so I'm just a fat magnet.
-

You can't have fried pork fat without the fat.
My cholesterol is on the borderline, 198. I should drink more alcohol to bring it down.

For someone still young that is rather high. Eat least fat!!! But what is your HDL-the good cholesterol? My total cholesterol is 147.
-
I forgot what my good cholesterol is. I threw away my results. Especially when the last time they took my blood and I passed out. The results could have been botched because of the adrenaline in the blood stream when they took my blood.
I just should drink more alcohol to bring my cholesterol level down. My alcoholic uncle passed away because he quit drinking.

I'm afraid of needles. That needle is big! The size of a toothpick. I kept staring at it until they stuck it my arm and I blacked out. The next thing I know when I woke up there was a big guy holding me upside down with my legs up in the air.
Actually alcohol is proven to be good for your health. So, I'm trying become a brewer and store up enough alcohol for a lifetime.

@ Sailor Neptune, do you ever eat at home? :D

Three different kinds of Thai curry and rice. (Forgot what kind. Chicken, pork and drunken pork I think.)
-
I've always been curious about drunken pork. What gives it its name?
I love Thai curries. I think their yellow curries taste pretty much like Viet curry.
-
I think the drunken pork is that they marinate the pork in some wine, I think. The yellow curry is kind of hot and spicy. It is less sweet than the Viet curry.
-
Ohh I have been eating Korean food in Paris too :D

I would go on a Foie gras and cheese eating spree if I were in Paris
-
Doesn't cheese make Asians blow up? :p
Foie gras is yikes, the concept I mean. If I were in Paris I'd eat, uh, chicken thighs. Yeah. And I'd hang out at Montmartre all day.

I'm preparing Ca Ri Ga for dinner. Chopped up a whole chicken and marinated it with minced garlic, shallot, lemongrass, red chilli pepper, fish sauce, sugar, salt, black pepper and of course curry powder. My secret is I also add a tiny sprinkle of ground star anise and cinnamon.

Today we'll have some Beef Wellington with Yorkshire Pudding, Onion Gravy and steamed carrots.
Hope the filet turns out well enough to be worth the price tag. 26€ for ~750g! Never paid this much for food before. I should get around to do some traditional German dishes, but the ones I know are all soups or heavy in meat/sausage, and I don't always want to have meat or soup on my table.

Lol, that's Kohlrabi? Looks totally different than the one we have here.
I have a Norwegian cooking book that does have some weird recipes hardly recommendable for private households. For one I actually need to put fish in running water for two days. Like, am I just supposed to put it in the public and wild animal exposed brook? :P

As advertised, Smoked BBQ beef ribs. I ran out of coal to smoke it so I have to finish baking it in the oven. It tasted like beef ribs infused with petroleum. I guess it's because I used one of those easy lite charcoal infused with petroleum.

@Dau Hu you need to post some pictures. @ Gaden you should get your colon cleanse after eating those ribs. :p

I got cancer from looking at it already.
-
Actually it was raw inside. So it's burnt and raw and at the same time. When served together we'll just call that even.
But, if I was in Hell's Kitchen I would probably get a #9, #8, #7, #3, and a #2 from Gordon Ramsay.

-
I don't like the American Ramsay. He hurts my ears and numbs my mind. Watch The F-Word instead. Dreadfully trivial, but he's a real sweetie pie there. He's himself there.
-
It's probably just for the show to create more buzz. But of course he could throw a tantrum in in his Kitchen but to a lesser degree.

It definitely is. He's only ever like that in the American shows. He can get pretty mad in Kitchen Nightmares UK too, but he certainly doesn't break obscenity laws every other minute there. I don't evne know what's so amazing about it. I watched a "Gordon Ramsay best-off" once, and I couldn't progress after the first few minutes.
On a related note USMC drill sergeants are a joke.

Last night I had Chinese roast duck with fried noodles.
Why does fat taste so good? I did a semi-responsible thing and sclove off the fat under the skin.
-
You guys need to watch the episode with the crazy couple from Amy's Baking Company. Gordon was so horrified, I'm shocked he didn't blow up. I think he was too scared since he was dealing with certified nutjobs.
-
Gordon Ramsay only acts up in Hell's Kitchen. His other shows, Master Chef and Kitchen Nightmares, he's very tamed.
This is the worst he'll get in Master Chef:

Because you need it.
That was very unnecessary!

My momma homemade pho! Delicious! And without MSG -elaugh
-
flan, ready made, b/c I'm too lazy to make it. I like my homemade flan better. The kind you get in Vietnamese restaurants is too gelatinous and not rich enough.
-
I think it's because they don't use eggs but the ready-made jelloish kind. It's boring.
I just had thit kho dau hu.
-
Hmmm, looks like Panna cotta. Interesting.
-
flan is more solid, rich and not as creamy, it has whole milk, eggs but no gelatin. Panna cotta doesnt' have eggs but has cream and gelatin. Panna cotta texture is closer to creme brulee but tastes much lighter which is why I prefer it over creme brulee.

I can't wait for my new fritteuse (http://www.amazon.de/ROMMELSBACHER-FRP-2135-KALTZONEN-FRITTEUSE/dp/B001BZJQDA/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1377734881&sr=8-3&keywords=rommelsbacher+fritteuse) to finally arrive tomorrow. I don't know if I'll make croquettes or Schmandkreppeln first.
Ooooh the gluttony. <3
Next will be a proper kitchen thermometer.
-
What's Schmandkreppeln? Looks kinda like American donut.
-
Well I am a beech for technology. I guess I could deep-fry stuff in a pot, but I'd rather spend some money to get a specialised product to guarantee optimal success and on the side support a good business.
I won't really need the thermometer very much but it's useful for some applications.
-

I find no semblance with doughnuts. -shrug

They're made with flour, sugar, eggs, smetana (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Smetana_(dairy_product)) and baking powder. Very delicious. Lovely crunchy outside with a soft inside. Extremely high energy density. :D
-
Looks good. I love German desserts.
-
It's not dessert, it's just indulgency. It serves the same purpose as cake and other pastries.
-
The Germans make good sweets. when I was visiting my cousin, it was a nice treat to go to a corner bakery early in the morning and get freshly baked pastry. UUUMMMM.
-
Well thanks! We sure do. ;)
-
I can share our family recipe with you next time I'm at my dad's. :p

Tomorrow I'm going to make tempura and something with mashed potatoes, perhaps duchess potatoes. Or maybe just mashed potatoes. And I'll prepare croquettes for my mom to go with the goulasch sundays. Too bad I'll have to work. :(
Oh damn, pommes dauphines sounds delicious. Maybe I'll give that a go.
LOL browsing the web I just found a German pastry called Nonnenfötzchen, "Nun's cookie*". :))
*Diminutive form of Fotze/cookie!

Gosh, that looks good. I want some Vietnamese food! :(
-
its really good the restaurant is called basil.
place have the best pho sate, because the broth is really delicious and the noodles are thick and good. i dunno, i'm sure they add like even peanut butter to the pho sate broth. but its really good.
unfortunately its not as popular anymore because there was some shooting there recently and someone got killed. its in the news.
last time my ex gf and i went there, there was a boat load of viet thugs there so i don't go there as much, but regardless the place have best pho sate bo. you gotta try it to believe it.
last week was my niece's bday.
shes the most beautiful little girl and our family came together for her 1st bday.
my mom cut up that thit heo and our family ate it up with like the casual fried up cha gio` and some vietnamese salad, etc.

My Favorite dish--Pad Thai
-
I thought there are a few Vietnamese restaurants in Pensacola, Fl.
We passed by this restaurant, http://tudopensacola.com/ (http://tudopensacola.com/) , but didn't go in because we wanted to try some authentic local food, Taco Bell.
-
oatmeal, rice, fruits and vegetables, are my stable food. really easy to make. oatmeal? just add water. rice? put it in the rice cooker. vegetable? I eat them raw like fruits. i rarely eat animals, so I get protein from supplements.
-
Can't wait to get home and grill these angus steaks
-
we have so many talented men here. You cook, flaminaire sews and creatively changes his name every few days.

I Ate home made tiết canh all way from Norway lol

Ohh u should taste my grandpa's tiet canh, u barly taste the blood :) Kinda taste delicious ;)
-
My family used to make homemade tiết canh. They would get a live duck, bend it's head over and slash the throat. The blood would just gush out like a spout.
The way to prepare tiết canh is to put in a lot of herbs to kill the gamey taste. I guess you would want it to taste gamey because it is gamey.
Right now, eating pigs ears and rice.

Lols, thanks. The sushi was our appetizer and it was delicious. Conch is now my new favorite seafood! We got full off of the sushi and togo most of the rice though. :p
-
I like conch. I also like octopus. Can't eat the raw fish though but I like the salmon roe.
-
I love prawn crackers! They taste like Pombär, but milder. Too bad they look really boring, unlike Pombär.
-
what's Pombar?
I'm eating dim sum chicken feet. Hope they're not fattening. And grilled salmon (left over restaurant food), and some greens. with rice.
-
dessert: a effervescent cookie. Unbelievable. The cookies are spongy in texture. Sandwiched between them is fluffy cream. The one I just had is taro flavor.
-
Pombär is a German, uhm, uh, cracker or whatever, the one shown on the picture.
Oh yeah, and I found out that wakame salad is fantastically delicious. And such a wonderful, lovely texture!
Looks funky too. It's just overall really fun to eat.
-
I love all seaweed.
-
Kho muc. I just stuffed myself and am now regretting it. You know how when you eat one or two pieces at a time, it's not so spicy....well...if you're eating it continuously it's focking hot as hell. And I'm too lazy to go get more water. My mouth is on FIRE -shy
-
too much kho muc makes you sick.
-
Not water! It's called milk! Trust me on this. As a non-Asian who likes to eat spicy I am an expert on having to contain hotness of spicy food.
Capsaicin is fat-soluble, that's why. I guess you could drink olive-oil but that would probably be disgusting.
Do you ever get dizzy heads and snotty noses from eating spicy?Once I had this really spicy bratwurst on the Christmas market, they have a vendor there who sells them with sauces of various levels, I had the second to last one I think. I took an hour to finish. In the end when I only had some breadroll and sauce left, I made the mistake of gobbling it all up at once. It was like glowing coals with every breath! :D So good.
-
I had 8 small guavas last night. A humble fruit with lots of flavor.
-
So that's where my Guavas disappeared to. I've been on a rampage against squirrels. Poor dead squirrels are in heaven looking down disapprovingly on Dau Hu.
-
In heaven there are mountains of guavas as far as the eyes can see for the little suckers.
-
I have this pineapple guava. The ghost of flying squirrels better not mess with it. Or else I'll do a seance.
-
Your guavas remind me of angry birds.
-
We've had Sahne-Zwiebelschnitzel (don't look it up, it looks like golly on pictures - it's escalopes in a creamy onion-sauce), potatoes and salad of lollo bionda, tomates and something else I forgot. :p
I really ought to make some food myself again. Well at least I'll finally make Bánh bò tomorrow and Sveler the day after... though I'd rather make a full meal instead.
Some nice 100% selfmade pizza would be good. <3
-
Bánh Bò today. The cakes are too damn sweet! It's like YUCKY YUCKY YUCK sweet. But aside of that very delicious! I'll just use 240g instead of 300g sugar next time, that should be better. :P
I should have stirred the batter well before making them too. The first batch was perfect, the last one is so sweet the aftertaste is so severe it almost feels rancid in a weird way.
-
I don't think banh bo should taste extremely sweet. Probably cut down on the sugar, although I don't know how to cook it in the first place.
Show us your banh bo. I can tell if it's decent or not. It should be tender. The inside should peel off easily like strands of hair.

I never cared for Banh bo. wonder why it's such a popular VN cake?
I have another bag full of guavas. My goal is to finish it by tomorrow. This is the strawberry type, pink on the inside with stronger flavor and not as sweet. I actually like the white ones better, has a mor delicate flavor and sweeter and firmer meat.
-

It's probably because I forgot to stir it one last time before preparing them and maybe also because I couldn't let it stand long enough for the yeast to do its work (my sister and her partner left earlier than expected, but I wanted them to taste them too), so the concentration of everything is higher.

WEll it looks cool and the taste is actually pretty cool. My sister loves them! She thinks they may be better with cherry sauce though.

i am not usually a pleasure seeker, but once in a while with friends:(http://s15.postimg.org/pfd07cj3v/pizza.jpg)
deep dish pizza
-
what is it, a pizza?
-
yep. Italian pizza, you eat it with fork and knife--with wine or beer on the side. but I had a cup of water. it is a different kind of pizza.
-
That looks like some thing that I must say, what the hell is that. I guess Italian pizzas are different than your old typical Pizza Hut.
-
I had crab cakes and chardoney. A small slice of cheese cake and rasberry for desert
I Just love love berries.
-
delicious pumpkin soup
-
I had bu'n vit sa'o mang. this one wasn't done right. The broth is bland, not even sure they use fresh broth. I wouldn't be surprised if they used the canned chicken broth.
I've been eating a few guavas after each meal. It's guavas season and every where I go, people give me guavas.
-
Just ate banh tet and elk salami with chili pepper.
-
Banh Tet in October?
-
I'm boiling pork belly for cuon.
-
yeah, we have banh te't year round here. They're small ones. This one only has the sticky rice and black beans. I like this kind. Last night I bought black beans sticky rice.
I just found another way to eat boiled pork belly. Do you see the mam tom chua in the stores. Whole shrimp in a jar? It looks really good. I found the shrimp are too salty. Someone suggest mixing it with boiled pork belly. I would chop up the shrimp and use it in small quantiy and mix it with pork belly.
-
I like mam but b/c it's so strong, only good in small quantity mostly for flavor. That's why I don't get bu'n mam. A whole soup pot of mam. That's just overkill!
-
due to being darkened from summer's scorching sun, I'm eating white chocolate- like black people- to avoid from chewing my fingers off.
-
muching on caramel corn. So addicting. Just finish some fried plaintain. That was good too.
-
That looks like some thing that I must say, what the hell is that. I guess Italian pizzas are different than your old typical Pizza Hut.
Italian Pizza usually looks pretty normal. I have no clue what sort of pizza that one is. What make sit more confusing is that apparently the tomate sauce is on top of the cheese. It's defnintely not a 100% true classic Neapolitan pizza.
Have a nice picture of a classic Pizza Margherita (http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-XUHDtvctQSM/UYpTXwF5Z4I/AAAAAAAABMw/zBMELzcsx50/s1600/fertig+2.jpg). Just tomato sauce and cheese!
BTT: I made potato dumplings; calf filet marinated in red wine, put to a sauce of beef broth, red wine, cloves, ginger, pepper and salt (Medieval German dish except it's normally sirloin); and lollo rosso with cherry tomatoes and a dressing of balsamico, oil, some herbs, salt and sugar. I didn't like how the dumplings turned out, but the rest was pretty damn nice.
-
Since we've been talking about sausages and hot links, I just went to the Golden coral to have my fill of a sausage feast.

I have a craving for sticky rice. I made sticky rice with chinese sausage (lap xuong) and dried shrimp. Staples to have around the house when you want comfort food and don't want to leave the house.

I'm having fried banana with coconut ice cream with pineapple bits, delicious! I haven't had this treat in a very long time.

Brown bread with fishsticks and short-fried champginons, topped with pinches of basil and parsley and a drop of remoulade.

If you want to eat a great, wet chocolate cake, try the following recipe.
250g Butter
1 1/2 Cups Sugar
3 Tbsp. Cocoa powder
1 1/2 Cups Milk
4 Eggs
2 Cups White Flour
3/4 pck. Baking powder
2 Pck. Vanilla sugar
Butter and milk can be substituted with margarine and water. Still tastes great!
Heat Butter, sugar, cocoa powder and milk until boiling, then let cool down for a while. Don't forget to mix it too!
Now either mix it all together at once or add the remaining ingredients step by step.
Don't worry about the liquid consistency, it's normal.
Put in the oven at about 175°C for about an hour in whatever cake form you Americans normally use. Try to get your hands on a Gugelhupf form if you find one, because your cakes will look very nice with it.
Before you take it out, test the consistency by sticking a small wooden pick deep into the cake. If it comes out without any dough or with only very few very tiny crumbles, then it's good.

No, menudo does not taste like bun bo Hue. It tastes more like pha lau, except they put lemon and onions in them.

I just had a breadroll and tomato-mozzarella with a balsamico dressing.
And I've taken up the practise of eating Nori as a snack. Certainly beats chocolate in healthiness, but I've had some of that too today. :p

With how tasty that looks, those would last two days tops here. Though the bread looks a bit dry.

With how tasty that looks, those would last two days tops here. Though the bread looks a bit dry.
The bread was baked in a oven to make the outer layer crispy. SO I guess it's dry on the outside.
-
Oh, I thought it was steamed.
I meant dry as in stale. Not saying it, just that it looks.
-
Well, the leftover was definitely dry because of the pickled vegetables left on with the sandwich.
Today, had chao long.

LOL that recipe. I forgot how simple bread recipes usually are. Hmmm. That reminds me I should make that Norwegian malt bread again.
Today I just had noodles red-white (bolognese and cheese sauce). :p

i be like, wat da heo~ hahaah
and that draft is $9, oh my car.
Walt Daisney is robbing families.
that viet food is making me mad hungry though.
-
SN, you're having a good life girl (except the bad fried rice/cali rolls pics)
I was sick and couldn't eat for several days. When I finally was able to, went to a restaurant. Of course, their pho was gigantic, couldn't finish it and actually made me sick. I did have a couple fo good egg rolls.
Right now my appetite is raging but my stomach doesn't cooperate. Grrr...
-
We made a 4 course menu at vocational school today. I was bursting. :(
I made duck breast with a lovely apricot-chicken broth. That's the main reason I was bursting.
And I burned my tongue on the incredibly hot spoon during tasting. It stopped hurting after the second course though. Oh god, imagine if you would get burning blisters on the tongue.

Wow, that sounds like a whole new discovery, kind of like the peanut butter and chocolate discovery, or the Oreos and cream discovery. You should manufacture some banh tieu with cream cheese and sell millions. Give me half of your proceeds because I gave you that idea, $5 is fine.
Nope, I'm not kidding.

That's 25 bucks for each person. You could eat in a 1-star-restaurant with that, and look at that crap. Wow. If any only one part of the meal is freshly made. The rest is simply store-bought. Piss poor place.
Are those even glasses? Looks like plastic. Looks focking disgusting either way. They should get some nicer glasses.
-
Today I've made croquettes, stewed carottes and champignons, a simple brownish roux with balsamico (was too lazy to cut onions after all that croquette-making and carrot-cutting, so I looked for something else that gives a nice taste), and a rucola salad with parsley root.
I started at about 12:30 or something and we finished eating at ~17:00. Croquettes take an awful lot of time!

teppanaki is simple food that taste delicious b/c they use fresh meat/seafood and tons of butter, served fresh. In the quest to eat more healthy I saute cubed chicken breast served hot with steamed rice. Pretty good!
The fun with it is the entertainment provided by the chef. These chefs need to learn the tricks.
Off topic, my cousin from VN told me there's a trend to have a pointed (heartshape) face so lots of plastic surgery to shave the jaw. Ughhh... I personally prefer and strong square jaw even on women.
Nothing against plastic surgery but honestly, many of the people that do this look better before.

how do you prevent banh xeo from sticking?
I suppose big Teflon pan and lots of oil. Whenever I go to restaurant, their banh xeo is swimming in oil. At home I barely use any, they come out as mush.
-
The secret is you pour a ton of oil in the pan and get the temperature really hot, preferably a gas stove.
Wow! Her banh xeo looks good! It's very ngon va bo.

@Gaden there is no rice in it at all! It is made with catfish, lemongrass, coconut milk, fish sauce and I am not sure what else. But it is steamed in the banana leaf. It really is good, it does not smell fishy or stinky at all. It melts in your mouth and is perfect with rice!!! It has a custard like texture. @Nghi, post some pics!! The restaurant is famous for Amok, so famous that they only make 40 a day and people have to order 4 at a time to have enough for themselves. :p Also, they only open 11am until 1:30 pm. I wish I could work only 3 hours a day lol.

It just tasted like ordinary pan fried dumplings.
I think I just about had it with these LA food places. People stand outside for hours waiting for food that is mediocre and bad service. The waiter was standing there pretty impatient waiting for us to decide, didn't even recommend us for anything. We only gave $2 tip for a $40 bill, and ran quickly outside before they caught us.
Today I was going for Thai Spicy BBQ recommended by somebody but i was closed, so we went next door for Armenian food. It was highly rated, had an A for health and highly touted by critics. Rob Lowe even went in there. The food wasn't bad. Tasted kind of like fajitas.

It's one of those experience where you don't know what to expect and you just go for it. You just don't wake up one day and think 'I think I'm going to try Bosnian food.' I have never heard of or thought of Bosnia as a fine dining experience. But, I think Bosnian food tastes like a mixture of Italian and Mediterranean, with Eastern European in between. That's the only way I can describe it. But the food tastes great. You won't know what you've ordered but it tastes great.
Last night, I had Lamb chops and Italian sausages and potatoes.

I think they leave the meat cold before grilling it. So the outside is seared while the inside is still cold and raw. It tastes tender and chewy, less flavor from the grilled meat. I guess it tastes like sashimi.
I wonder what Gordon Ramsay might say about it?

I usually go there to contemplate because it's a Buddhist place where a lot of monks go to have excursions from their rigid religious dogmas. I stare out the window and look at a pebble on the table to contemplate the complexity of life and the peacefulness within.

Ethiopian food- meat and veggie platter for two with chicken, lamb, and beef.
It was my first time trying Ethiopian food. I am not a fan. The place have 4/5 star rating with more than 1000 reviews but I just couldn't stomach it. The Injera bread is too sour for my liking. My gf and I barely ate anything, because we both didn't like it. :(

That is a lot of noodle!!!!!!!! Eating a lot of instant noodle is bad for you Gaden.
I'm on my diet plan. I just wanted to eat something non-nutritious so I can lose weight.

Funny I've just had the shaved ice the other day. Mine was the Durian shaved ice with condensed milk. I shouldn't have added the condensed milk because the durian is sweet enough already. I don't think it's shaved ice at all. Tastes like icecream or gelato.

does anyone here like shrimp paste or "mam ruoc". I just love it but so salty. eat in very small qty. I like it with bun rieu, fried tofu, boiled bacon, sour fruit such as granny smith apple and green mango.
-
I have to hold my nose and hope that I won't swallow a spoonful of shrimp paste, or else I'll be shrimp paste.
Today, I made Spaghetti with Italian sausage

I have left over grilled chicken and corn I got from a party. Threw everything and rice, garlic and pepper for seasoning. Made fried rice. Simple comfort food. What I really would like to add is vn coriander or rau ram which is my favorite herb. I ate so much.
Custard pie with fresh blueberries for dessert. Not sure if I have room.

I've got a bag full of leftover Halloween treats, about 500 pieces of candy bars and Milk Duds. What would happen it I eat it all? I don't want it to go to waste. Should I eat it all in one week or spread it out over a year?
Lunch for today: Penang Curry instant noodles with arugula. If anyone haven't tried it, it tastes magnifique. The best instant noodles I've ever tried. It's not anything like your old regular soggy instant noodles. Sort of like spice chewy Japanese ramen.

@Qu Đơn Obviously, your bf dissed on KFC is because she wanted to devour every piece of Bonchon chicken everyone is talking about. You gotta step your game up bruh lol.
Incredibly, every piece is fried to perfection. The skin is thin yet crispy and full of flavors. The meat is moist and juicy, what more can you ask for from fried chiggins?

KFC offers that American experience that is hard to replicate at other establishments. You often get foods served in plates and bowls but only in KFC do you get served in a giant bucket.

True but, after a while, the heavy-breaded batter and bucket get old and boring. As a lady's man you already know girls just want to have fun... and explore new outlets.

from one self actualized man to another self actualized man, keep in mind rule # 11
11) Self-actualized people resist enculturation.
They do not allow themselves to be passively molded by culture — they deliberate and make their own decisions, selecting what they see as good, and rejecting what they see as bad. They neither accept all, like a sheep, nor reject all, like the average rebel. Self-actualized people:
“make up their own minds, come to their own decisions, are self-starters, are responsible for themselves and their own destinies. [...] too many people do not make up their own minds, but have their minds made up for them by salesmen, advertisers, parents, propagandists, TV, newspapers and so on.”
Because of their self-decision, self-actualized people have codes of ethics that are individualized and autonomous rather than being dictated by society.
“They are the most ethical of people even though their ethics are not necessarily the same as those of the people around them [...because] the ordinary ethical behavior of the average person is largely conventional behavior rather than truly ethical behavior.”
True but, after a while, the heavy-breaded batter and bucket get old and boring. As a lady's man you already know girls just want to have fun... and explore new outlets.

Is it a coincidence that I like the number 11? You know I haven't had cakes of any kind in over 2 months, and I don't miss them at all. I could still enjoy them, but since they're desserts I'd take delight in eating them once in a while since I don't need them to be an everyday thrills.
Today, and for some reason, I felt I want to rekindle my taste buds with Vietnamese desserts so I opted for a Vietnamese banana ice cream bar. And let me tell you, it's the most mouthwatering treats I've had. Maybe in another month or so I'll get myself some Vietnamese bánh chuối hấp. Is self-control part of self-actualization?

banana is good for you.

I think goi sen and banh tet, for dessert Che thai or banh lot.
I prefer banh lot made with rice flower over tapioca flour.
