Has anyone gone on a vacation packaged deal?
« on: September 22, 2015, 11:32:27 AM »
Is this vacation deal any good?  I'm think there is some sort of a tourist trap where you have to pay extra for lodging and attraction fees and transportation and meals and gifts and other attractions, etc... which could come up to over $5000.

$699 -  China Vacation with Airfare from Gate 1 Travel - Shanghai and Beijing

On this 10-day vacation from Gate 1 Travel, you’ll have accommodations in the center of Beijing and Shanghai, making it easy to explore both cities. You can use taxis to get around, or hop on the well-developed (and inexpensive) subway systems that run to all of Beijing and Shanghai’s major attractions. Each option includes:

Round-trip airfare from Los Angeles, Houston, or New York
    Airline taxes and fuel surcharges
Domestic flight from Beijing to Shanghai
5 nights of standard accommodations at The Presidential Beijing
3 nights of standard accommodations at Rendezvous Merry Hotel Shanghai, Shanghai Regal East Asia Hotel, or Mingde Grand Shanghai, depending on departure city.
    All transfers
    Daily breakfast

with these packaged deal, you would need to research all the "inclusions" look up the hotel, surcharges, kind of food, etc...

I saw on fb recently ad for promotional package vacation for dirt cheap, ie you only pay airfare. Catch is you have to be over 30, married and make over a certain income bc they want to sell u time shre supposed to attend 90 minute presentation.   I do't see why you can't be single as long as you meet income requirement. I read reviews some people are p/o b/c they didn't tell them all the criteria or qualify them then after they buy air tickets found out they don't qualify or the resort 'bait and switch" and when they got there demaned more money.

It does work out for some people. a friend of mine went with her husb to cancun all they paid was airfaire they got a great resort and food all free.

so again, buyer beware with these deals, research everything before making purchases.
