« on: November 21, 2018, 04:20:51 PM »
got this one on ebay for $40 (including shipping). didn't know it's a desired item. the one I got was dark brown belt. this one is way overpriced, most of them go between 40-$70 range.

whites are notorious appropriators so sure join the Native American cultural sphere, who are now according to Pimpmaster "Latinos".  I have a lot of Navajo jewelry, mainly sterling cufflinks, bracelets and belt buckles.  I do buy a lot of very nice Southwestern modernist sterling silver necklaces and bracelets, often come in sets, from the 1920s onward that incorporate turquoise and red coral as gifts for the females in my life.

A Concho belt with real turquoise can cost a few thousands. I bought one with fake turquoise for $122. It looks good on the buyer in the reviews.

Tjmax has some Mexican silver bangles for a good price but they only have the smaller type. I see the same design on a thicker bangle elsewhere. Not ready to spend $400 on one. I also got a cute blue bead necklace from salv army.

I also have some cheap fake turquoise necklaces in my cart on AliExpress. I bought a bangle. I’ll see what it looks like in person before I buy the necklace.

Should be enough for my southwestern fix. I already have a couple of jean shirts. Will style an outfit after I get my belt.

Mexicans make the same things as the "Indians" of Sante Fe make.  Their stuff is much cheaper but the silver content isn´t guaranteed.  I get both Mexican and American Indian silver (very hand-crafty, which is to say pretty poorly made) often through coin dealers I frequent since I stack silver and gold coins for a hobby.  A nice concho belt from pure silver I can get for around $500-$800.  Your price is like full blown retail.  Even ebay isn´t that expensive as these sorts of things have very low collectible value to millenials and their "real collectors" are aging out of the market and even sell their collection in great numbers now.  I think the heyday of American Indian fashions was the 70s and it never made it back.  There was a short revival in the late 1990s (See Home Improvement and Seinfeld episodes). I have been offered concho belts at silver melt value like for $500 and there was almost 1kg of silver there.  I avoid the ones with heavy stones since those are pretty common.
