So the cheapest rice producer is Myanmar, seconded by Vietnam.  Yet, the Philippines will buy rice only from Vietnam.  I do wonder why the Philippines makes this decision to begin with.  Vietnam can only afford so many English teachers.

VN needs to scam the Philippines.   Give them a really low price on the rice only if they buy snails.  Rice = $0.25 / lb.  Snails = $65/lb.

VN also should demand lower price for balut.

I assume vienamese rice is better suited for their palate. If you value fragrant jasmine rice.

thailand and india are top world exporter. After this I won't be buying 3 ladies rice. look at this, plastic rice from thailand too!

From what I have heard, Thailand rice is of higher quality than Vietnamese rice.  Vietnamese rice is looser and less fragrant.  That's why they couldn't export it over to the US to compete with Thailand rice.

I have been eating Basmati rice.  I heard it's healthier and has less starch than Jsamine rice.  It tastes kind of like plastic rice or broken rice.

I've learned a few Halal dishes and the use of Basmati rice.  I've made goat head biryani.

bastami rice is more expensive than jasmine rice. I still prefer jasmine rice b/c I like the stickiness.

bastami rice is good with indian or mid east food.

Dial Philippines rice comes mostly from the mountains & doesn't have as much Flatlands as Vietnam.

Japan has the same problem with the Philippines Japan. Cannot produce as much beef either.

Why do Filipinos eat so much rice? Rice actually lowers IQ.

Basmati rice goes well with bo kho and most Vietnamese salty meat dishes.  I don´t like Jasmine rice all that much and the Japanese rice is just a carb bomb.  Most Vietnamese curries, bo luc lac, and all the Hue sausages go well with basmati rice.  It is a good substitute for "bun" which is too wet to go with meat.  The Indians like to eat their basmati rice wet but I like its dried texture as described by garden.

We eat beans just like most Spanish rice have beans.

We just don't put it on the rice because it Alters the taste of the main meal.

The way to cook Basmati rice is to soak it in cold water for 30 minutes.  Then drain the water.  Then pour some water in and cook for another few minutes.  That's how all of the starch gets washed away and the rice doesn't stay sticky.

I think this would go well with com tam or com Am Phu because it's not soggy like Jasmine rice if you pour fish sauce over it.

or Com Am Phu

yeah I agree.  You can keep all the com tam ingredients and just switch out the rice and everything would blend well.

It's the Chicken adobo or Jollibee.  You know that's why African Americans are chunky, it's because of the fried chicken.
