Not bad for a rap song.

Not my kind of music but at least they are showing some independence from kpop.

I have predicted this all along.  Most of these new VPOP songs sound like 2020 American hip hop even down to the references.  Comrades have finally realized that if you want excellence go to the source.  Hiring Korean soccer coaches while you are still poor but when you have money it´s better to hire Brazilians.

Just 10 years ago, many of these Vpop kids called Saigon HCM now they all go back to calling the city Saigon.  In fact, I notice more Northern kids calling the city Saigon than even the fools recently emigrated there.

Not bad for a rap song.

For us who grow up here you can clearly see kpop is just hip hop rehash. I do give the Korean credit for Asianized it. Ie, dress the way they vision Asians do, everything neat and cute and perfect.

Now these kids copy rap to the t dressing in loose sloppy clothes. I think with time they can asianized it too. I don’t think sloppy sportswear look good on these petite girls. Not sure how but not that hard to do

Asians are not used to being cultural innovators.  Look at Japanese fashion, especially when Yamamoto, Kenzo, Miyaki became popular.  They popularized 1980s avant garde clothings (started by Charivari clothing store in NYC meant for the American elite) which really tried to incorporate casual loose fitting clothings to formal corporate settings.  Then when this trend diffused into popular Hip hop styles, the Japanese lost direction and started to appropriate the punk styles of the early 1990s.

The Koreans basically picked up where the Japanese left off and popularized later hip hop aesthetics and early 2000s boy band styles.  There isn´t much that I see now in comtemporary Asian fashions that I have not seen before.  At a time when even very formal work settings no longer require a suit, you see Asians wear suits everywhere even in burning temperatures to display self-perceived sophistication.  This is the result of not knowing what they want out of life and buying into brands as easy access to a lifestyle that they don´t even live. Copy copy copy.

This Thai Cong peasant is full of contradictions.  He basically replicated London aesthetics with wood wall panels and even a fire place for a bar in of all places humid and hot Saigon.  Totally inappropriate but this is the result of a designer who lives by copying and a clientele who doesn´t know much. Copy copy copy.  I don´t mind copying with adapation but this is copying in its purest form.  They basically reproduced the interior of the film The King´s Man.
