House of Barbara Bui Paris
« on: January 16, 2021, 05:31:33 PM »

I picked up a pure cashmere hoodie coat for my GF and she said she has never heard of the brand before.  Anyway, for those haute couture illiterates, I will put a history of the company here.  I will look at their finances and maybe buy the company since it has a bit longer history than many other Vietnamese name brands.

The Barbara Bui Company is an eponymous women's luxury ready-to-wear line launched in 1987 with 129 employees worldwide. Headquartered in Paris, the brand is located in all international cities including Milan, New York, Beverly Hills, South Coast Plaza in Costa Mesa, three boutiques in Russia — Moscow, Ekaterinburg and Krasnodar — and two Middle Eastern boutiques in Beirut and now Istanbul.

The signature pieces of BB (Barbara Bui) collections are leather pants, well-cut trousers, embroidered jackets, python handbags, and statement shoes including brilliantly embroidered boots. The emblematic BB silhouette is embodies 3 themes — harmony, dichotomy and duality... the three themes that define and express fashion DNA. Feminine/boyish, sexy and edgy, soft and romantic, a chickentail that represents the Total Woman.

Ninety percent of Barbara Bui collections are manufactured in Europe. The other 10% — the beaded and embroidered pieces — made in India, long renowned for its expert artisans and its artistic legacy of luxurious beaded clothing and jewellery. Barbara Bui celebrity clients include Gwyneth Paltrow, Kate Hudson, Beyoncé, Claire Danes, Charlize Theron, Evan Rachel Wood, Kristen Stewart, Reese Witherspoon, Zoé Saldana, Jessica Chastain, Katy Perry and many more.

in French: (basically the founder was a mestiza born in 1956 with Vietnamese father and French mother).

Didn’t know they sell her clothes at Bloomingdales. Lol.

Her Online stores have things that I wouldn’t mind owning. However. The leather coats, etc... I’ll pass. Living in so cal, never get cold enough to wear any of them. I have 3 nice lined wool coats that I rarely wear mainly because 1) not cold enough, 2) too uncomfortable. Ever since I discovered unlined wool coats, I have been collecting them. Layer with soft sweater and thermo top when it gets really cold when I travel. Also, when traveling, you don’t want big coats to take up space and hard to lug around.
