More like jealousy of what they can't do or lag behind. You also see the same attitude among the Thai, and Malaysia toward Vingroup. I don't like Backy and VC in general but my judgment on things based on logic and reasoning, not emotion. Anyone know why Indonesian food is not highly regarded as Thai, or even Vietnamese food?  It think it has pretty much diversity is taste and texture as any ethnic culinary delight.  Indonesian food has an array of exotic spices.

I love Indonesian food. Indonesian food is A Austronesian that was influenced by Indian & Dutch. in Netherlands & Germany. Indonesian are very popular.

Filipino ( catholics/protestant) & indonesians muslims have a similar mindset about humility before God & not taking pride in idols of your hands.

We don't take pride in Idols, Statues, materialism, clothes. pride in food, traditional clothes. for us, ''pride' is the root of all evil.

ethnic foods become popular through indoctrination and to do that well you need foot soldiers on the ground opening restaurants and marrying whites.  There are very few Indonesians in the West doing the indoctrination and their cuisine being Muslim is not palatable to white people.  Thai and Vietnamese foods are like healthy and harmless...not set out to convert anyone.  White people prefer this.
