He built his army equivalent strong as the western military. Under his reign, he expanded his domain to Cambodia, Lao. He even predicted the Qing will lose to the British in the opium war.

His descendants all were failures, which eventually led to the fall of the Dynasty.

The Southern Chin properly stole Ming mang ideology to rebuild themselves after centuries ruled and treated as second-class citizens during the Qing ruled. See themselves as proud Han, Hoa Ha, center kingdom. In fact, they chin are just bunch of paranoid Mongol, Manchu mixed with Wu (we called the Chinese Ngo = Wu).
